THIS COLLECTION IS ALL ABOUT
LESSON
Life Lessons are hard learned Here is a selection of some of mine
Life is full of Lessons; just some are more expensive than others.
As an entrepreneur, business owner and parent I seem to go from one life lesson to another. Every day life lessons present themselves. And some are really very powerful and I’d love others to learn from them.
Part of the business journey is about who you are as a person. I also consider that my ‘whole self’ comes to work. For me, I need to make sure that my whole life is connected.
I thought it was important to include many posts about these life lessons. As an entrepreneur, business owner, or a corporate leader you will have many competing priorities. In these pages you may well find some answers. Perhaps how I did it, or what I have learned from others will give you inspiration.
Have fun and explore these many posts. You may want to have a pen and paper by your side to jot down the life lessons that inspire you. You will definitely want to subscribe to my Monday Motivator Newsletter so that you can get a weekly dose of motivation.

Three is memorable – 10 is perfect

Replacing Myself
Being a fast growth business and named a best employer for the last five years means that clearly recruitment is at the core of everything we do. As the founding director and the entrepreneur who started RedBalloon and grew it to a significant sized business, the...
Four Lessons I learned from tough bosses
It’s hard to be engaged and love your job when you believe that your boss is a nightmare or you’re stuck in the middle of a toxic workplace. The biggest mistake I made was going to work everyday feeling scared, fearful, and as a result not being prepared to try new...
Put a smile on your dial and feel the difference
I was asked by the editors of LinkedIn "What do you always carry with you" - and whilst I might have been tempted to write about an electronic device... the thing that I have always carried with me, and I continue to keep with me is my 'smile'. Here's a game, a simple...
Shared ‘Good Times’ Intrinsically linked to Happiness
Earlier this year we released some survey findings about what makes people happy. RedBalloon is in the business of creating 'good times', so we wanted to find out what gives people joy. When do people feel the happiest? And what we discovered was not only reassuring,...
