LESSON

Life Lessons are hard learned Here is a selection of some of mine

Life is full of Lessons; just some are more expensive than others.

As an entrepreneur, business owner and parent I seem to go from one life lesson to another. Every day life lessons present themselves. And some are really very powerful and I’d love others to learn from them.

Part of the business journey is about who you are as a person. I also consider that my ‘whole self’ comes to work. For me, I need to make sure that my whole life is connected.

I thought it was important to include many posts about these life lessons. As an entrepreneur, business owner, or a corporate leader you will have many competing priorities. In these pages you may well find some answers. Perhaps how I did it, or what I have learned from others will give you inspiration.

Have fun and explore these many posts. You may want to have a pen and paper by your side to jot down the life lessons that inspire you. You will definitely want to subscribe to my Monday Motivator Newsletter so that you can get a weekly dose of motivation.

Happy people have one think in common

Here is a challenge for one day only, try not to experience life through a lens - could you?. How wonderful all the tools are that we use to capture glimpses of our lives, but they are just tools - they are not life. Recently, we surveyed close to 2,000 Australians to...

Best Advice: Discover What Is Inside the Book

Book designers are very clever – whenever I walk into my local book store, I am enticed to pick up a variety of wonderful volumes. The vividness of the cover, the style of the title, words all reach me before I have any idea about what is in the book. This was not...

Internships part of a rounded education

Internships part of a rounded education

As we head into the new tertiary year - with thousands of young people starting at Universities - as employers we sit and wait - hoping that they will come out well rounded individuals ready to face the work world. Internships are a great way to get undergraduates...

What Can We Believe In?

What Can We Believe In?

At the very core of what it is to be human is our need to belong I wrote recently for a LinkedIn 'Influencer post'. How we connect to others, our community, family, sporting teams, companies, or country to name a few. Part of our experience of ‘belonging’ is believing...

The Key To Success Is Practice

The Key To Success Is Practice

As we move into 2014 it is very much a time to reflect, review and create. I've never been big on New Years resolutions - but I do always take the time to create a plan. My partner and I also create a theme for the year. This year we have chosen 'Simplicity'. As a...

Are Print and Privacy History

Are Print and Privacy History

New Year to me is like drawing a line in the sand. It is a moment to reflect and review how much was achieved in the passing year... but also what might happen in the next 12 months. If there is one thing I am absolutely sure of, it is that the rate of change will...

What Is Your Legacy?

What Is Your Legacy?

As the year draws to a close - one begins to reflect on the year, it's ups and downs - and then what the next year might look like. I have not been blogging quite as often - simply because I have been setting aside that time to write a book. One of my highlights for...

Where Are the Dadpreneurs?

Where Are the Dadpreneurs?

I was interviewed earlier this week by a senior journalist and at some point in the conversation the word "mumpreneur" was uttered from her lips. I said with great indignation in my voice “Really!" – why would you use such a word to describe women earning an income at...
