THIS COLLECTION IS ALL ABOUT
LESSON
Life Lessons are hard learned Here is a selection of some of mine
Life is full of Lessons; just some are more expensive than others.
As an entrepreneur, business owner and parent I seem to go from one life lesson to another. Every day life lessons present themselves. And some are really very powerful and I’d love others to learn from them.
Part of the business journey is about who you are as a person. I also consider that my ‘whole self’ comes to work. For me, I need to make sure that my whole life is connected.
I thought it was important to include many posts about these life lessons. As an entrepreneur, business owner, or a corporate leader you will have many competing priorities. In these pages you may well find some answers. Perhaps how I did it, or what I have learned from others will give you inspiration.
Have fun and explore these many posts. You may want to have a pen and paper by your side to jot down the life lessons that inspire you. You will definitely want to subscribe to my Monday Motivator Newsletter so that you can get a weekly dose of motivation.

Do you never seem to have any cash?

Being bowled over by the ‘Big Idea’.

The Questions You Should Ask Yourself Before Starting a Business
This is an excerpt from my new, soon to be released, book Ready to Soar. Perhaps you have an idea or a vision for a business, or you simply want to be your own boss. You want to be an 'entrepreneur', lead a business, create something truly worthwhile and valuable. You...
Is ‘Human Resources’ still apt & are Performance Reviews coming to an end?
The first thing that popped into my head as I considered the 'state of my industry' was that 'Human Resources' the term is well out of date and not representative of the important role that people play (nor people professionals) in the success of a business. Bit by...
The 11 Golden Rules of Conversation
I was in a cafe in Argentina with my daughter a few weeks ago - and on the front of the menu was a list of 'the golden rules of conversation'. Now whilst it was quite amusing - see the picture attached, I thought there must be a reason - even if it is just for the...
The four critical traits of highly successful people
I often look at people and think – “Wow how did they get to do what they do?” “What choices did they make?” “What luck came along the way?” Fundamentally I think we are all interested in what and how other people live their lives. I read with interest a Business...
Who to hire into your start up – is a big decision.
I recently spoke to The Start Society in it’s iCentral.co space for tech startups in Sydney, and one of the questions I was thrown was: “When you are looking to hire people in your business, how do you do it effectively?” My answer was very straightforward: “I hire...
