THIS COLLECTION IS ALL ABOUT
LESSON
Life Lessons are hard learned Here is a selection of some of mine
Life is full of Lessons; just some are more expensive than others.
As an entrepreneur, business owner and parent I seem to go from one life lesson to another. Every day life lessons present themselves. And some are really very powerful and I’d love others to learn from them.
Part of the business journey is about who you are as a person. I also consider that my ‘whole self’ comes to work. For me, I need to make sure that my whole life is connected.
I thought it was important to include many posts about these life lessons. As an entrepreneur, business owner, or a corporate leader you will have many competing priorities. In these pages you may well find some answers. Perhaps how I did it, or what I have learned from others will give you inspiration.
Have fun and explore these many posts. You may want to have a pen and paper by your side to jot down the life lessons that inspire you. You will definitely want to subscribe to my Monday Motivator Newsletter so that you can get a weekly dose of motivation.

Five reasons why a coupon is NOT a gift
[From LinkedIn] I have just read a news report called “Groupon fights for its life as daily deals fade” which did not really surprise me. I know some of our suppliers have from time to time dabbled with discounting their activities and events through such sites and I...

It’s a big world out there… now chatting to 175 million of them
It is humbling and exciting to be selected as a 'Thought Leader' to a potential audience of 175million LinkedIn professionals, to think that the blogging and opinion pieces I write for BRW, the Australian and SmartCompany have propelled me onto a much bigger stage. My...
Five ways to play a bigger game.
Back in September 2012, I found myself at the Entrepreneurs Organization Conference in Istanbul. The theme for the event was transform, transcend, together. Right now, I am away (this time in Australia) and still thinking about the same things...how to play a bigger...
Seven generational paradigms
I’m not a big fan of categorizing people by their age and putting a label on them. Years ago I wrote a blog about ‘Generation Why’ – claiming that I was very much a part of the “generation that questions everything.” ‘A picture saves a thousand words’... I begin to...
21 Day Challenge… is anybody listening?
As I sat in the back of a taxi rushing from one appointment to another this week… quick to check my phone for messages as soon as I jumped in the cab, the taxi driver asked “And how’s your day going?” I stopped and chatted and found out what he thought of the troubles...
The ‘success’ quiz.
I am often asked after speaking engagements "what is it like to be successful?" – I answer that 'success' is in the eye of the beholder – each person has their own definition, success is a personal notion; for some it is financial security – for others it is the depth...
Joshua Bell Case Study
A much loved Joshua Bell Case Study The New Economic Forum tells us that one of the five steps to well being is simply to take notice. To be truly present, to see, smell, experience life around us moment by moment; to truly listen, to really focus and be aware. In...
