Entrepreneurship
So you think you want to be on an entrepreneurship journey? Or perhaps you are just curious about other people who are entprenreneurs.
Entrepreneurship is made to look glamorous and yet on the whole it is not. Most people if you were to ask them, as business owners they are likely you will be living on a very tight budget, rather than driving around in a Tesla.
As they say the road to Entrepreneurship is littered with the carcasses of the ‘hopeful’. It is a lot of hard work however it can be extremely rewarding both financially and emotionally. However, neither of those things is guaranteed. You get to run your own business, and make your own rules as well as build something special from the ground up. But for every Silicon Valley success story there are thousands of people that will never be a true ‘entrepreneur’.
I have found that the best way is to learn from others. I have run many successful entrepreneurial businesses. And I have made plenty of mistakes. In these blog posts I share the ups and the downs. You may want to subscribe to my Monday Xpresso Newsletter so that you can get a weekly dose of motivation.
So let’s get started on your entrepreneurial journey. Be curious, and have fun – reading and learning about being an entrepreneur.

A visit to my Living Room – to celebrate Mothers Day
Amanda Keller from The Living Room asked to come over to my house and have a chat with me in my living room about Mothers Day (as you do). I instantly jumped at the opportunity…and then I remembered I didn’t actually have a living room to sit in! It was at that point...

A visit to my Living Room – to celebrate Mothers Day
I thought it would be fun to throwback to this time last year when Amanda Keller from The Living Room asked to come over to my house and have a chat with me in my living room about Mothers Day (as you do). I instantly jumped at the opportunity…and then I remembered I...

How much do you owe your mother?
I’m very open about the fact that I’m a woman of many labels – entrepreneur, speaker, director, author, blogger and innovator – but to my children, I am simply mum. And of all the roles I’ve ever had, being a mother is the most challenging and yet the most rewarding....

To dream the ‘impossible’ dream….*
A BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) is a dream – but not an impossible dream. In fact by definition it is possible – but not probable. Do you have a personal BHAG? I wonder how many people simply give up their dreams because they tell them selves that they are too ‘old’...

Shark Tank S1 Episode Eleven on TEN
In reviewing my notes for this episode I was left feeling a little sad. I know this is not an emotion that we often talk about when it comes to business. In my book Live What You Love I talk about the four elements to support living a life of passion and purpose. One...

When the big fear gets in your way: failure.
A blank white screen has been sitting before me for a little too long, and I am questioning why it has taken me so long to write on this topic. This isn't because I haven't made any mistakes – between you and me, I've made a lot. Given my deep commitment to positive...

Shark Tank S1 Episode Ten on TEN
'Youth' might be the theme of this weeks episode. With two entrepreneurs under the age 25 years in the Tank the enthusiasm was infectious. I love the innovation that we were presented with. Some simple ideas to everyday problems. Really great to see the entrepreneurs...

Shark Tank S1 Episode Nine on TEN
In some ways Episode Nine was all about family. I think many people would have robust discussions based on their personal experience with the problems that each of our entrepreneurs presented to the Sharks. I remember as a young mum literally juggling two small...
