This week will see some significant enhancements to the RedBalloon offering…. All of the innovations that we will announce this week have all been driven by our single minded purpose: ‘RedBalloon is changing gifting in Australia forever’.

Gift Cards now in Coles, Woolworths and Australia Post & NZ Post
Giftbox range

Over the past five years this sense of purpose has driven much of our innovation in our Corporate team, our gift card offering through retailers (including Coles just announced which takes us to about 3000 retail outlets), our gift box range – which means great experiences can be delivered to the recipient.

When we say the ‘gifting in Australia’ this includes rural Australia – and in many regional towns there simply is not the supply of experiences that we have in the city – so we have to send experiences to them – from international beer tastings to astrology readings

Gift Packs in Myer, Target, Dymocks & Big W (nationally)

Last year we saw our innovation into retail – with Myer, Big W and Target taking our gift packs, which include gift cards in a gift box with a catalog of experiences. - for mobile devices

We need to be wherever gifting decisions take place, which is why I’m excited to see that our site optimised for iPhone and other mobile devices has shipped.

Browse on your iPhone or mobile device and you’ll go to a version of our website especially for mobile browsing.  It has quite a nifty ‘refine’ function that makes searching by location, price and gift especially easy. Congratulations to Peter, Khoa, Alex, Roneel, Joel and the team at Nomad for making this happen.

  • Being in retail for close to two decades has it's highs and lows. 
There is always the threat of competition (Is Amazon going to impact our business when it opens in Australia? Who knows...). The only constant in any retail business is change. 
I find this particularly scary — and nerve wracking. 
I wish I had a crystal ball. 
Trying to pick customer trends continues to be challenging. 
We have engaged the best of the best AI tool to assist in finding customers and helping them. 
But fear is a real emotion felt by many business owners at this time of year. 
Can I trust? I ask myself relentlessly... With 10 weeks to Christmas I feel I must do more to help predict... If I hear ‘consumer confidence is low’ one more time I will want to scream.

Today I must test it. 
I think if I give potential customers a rich offer — with no hidden strings (link in bio), I will see if we can pull some demand forward to let us predict the Christmas capacity we may need. 🎈🎈
