I went to see the new animated movie ‘Happy Feet’ with the children. It had everything that you need in a movie; a great sense of adventure, fun and romance, mateship and even danger. The leopard seals had me jump into the seats in front – my daughter had to comfort me, “It’s only a movie Mum”. The casting was brilliant (I could not pick Hugh Jackman). This would have to be the stand out animated movie I have seen since Shrek (and I have pretty much seen them all ? very handy to have children to drag along with me).
This was entertainment but not just for amusement’s sake. It started lots of conversations in our house about the impact humans have that they don’t even know they’re having on the environment. But here’s the thing. This movie was not just a great story but it had a purpose? a message, something to contribute to the greater good.
Isn’t it the same thing for us? When I have a purpose, work is not a chore, it is something that I cannot wait to do. I finally worked this one out. When we know what we are here to do, what needs to get done in the day which moves us one step closer to the bigger game…life seems easier.
“The power of purpose — George Lucas, Film Director and Producer — “You have to find something that you love enough to be able to take risks, jump over the hurdles and break through the brick walls that are always going to be placed in front of you. If you don’t have that kind of feeling for what it is you are doing, you’ll stop at the first giant hurdle.”

I.e. "Every month I'm struggling to pay my bills on time because there just isn't consistent cash flow coming into the business. I've tried sticking to budgets in the past & pay myself less to keep some extra funds aside for emergencies, but still every month there seems to be another financial fire to be put out. I don't know what to do about it, so I'm just grinding it out."
