I wrote some months ago about how small organisations have a greater ability to achieve customer intimacy.

I used the examples of the cafes in Balmain. Starbucks vs Bertoni’s.

I noticed yesterday removal trucks outside Starbucks in Balmain. It seems that the community has won. By voting with their feet and supporting local businesses.

Update – False alaram…just a removal truck, the US multi national is still hanging in there.

  1. Hey Naomi,

I just wanted to say that I love your blog! There is a great book on the subject of great vs big -> Small Giants – companies that choose to be great instead of big, by Bo Burlingham. Bo was oneof the presenters at my BOG class this year.

  • Each year I look at what it is I want to achieve. And how I want to contribute. I also build new messages and insights for my keynotes.
