On February 1, 2006 I wrote my first blog post. I had just won entrepreneur of the year for 2005 and I wanted to share that experience. I felt it was an important transition to being a role model. Since that time, I’ve written more than 1000 blogs sharing and documenting what I learn, see and discover.
Whilst my blogs are about ensuring I deliver quality content to my readers, it’s also about documenting where I’m at and how far I’ve come; what I get right, what I get wrong, and key milestones in my life and business. It is ‘An Entrepreneur’s Journey’.
As entrepreneurs, it’s rare that we celebrate our achievements or even recognise when we’ve hit the mark (there is always more to do) – my blog allows me to both share and celebrate (or commiserate!) this journey I’m on.
My writing isn’t perfect and I know that my grammar and spelling could use some work, but my blog has never been about perfection. It’s been about real life experiences and situations that happen – right then – and sharing them in the most authentic way so others can also learn from my mistakes or successes.
I now have over 100,000 people that read my blog each year – and I know that being my human self is the most important part of each blog.
